Mission of the Air Policing Service (APS)
In air policing, the APS, in coordination with the other entities involved, has the following competences:
To prevent, monitor and interdict the use of the airspace for illegal actions, in coordination with other agencies and security services under the Internal Security Act, as appropriate;
To enforce the administrative acts of the competent authority to prevent disrespect of the law and its continued violation;
To plan and implement appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the airspace during high-profile events, , in coordination with other agencies and security services under the Internal Security Act, as appropriate;
To define control measures and the airspace management, in particular by creating exclusion zones, and, when determined by safety reasons, to set up and enforce rules of access to the national airspace.
