National Procedures
According to Article 3, paragraph b) of the Chicago Convention, State Aircraft are the aircraft used in military, customs and police services.
Meanwhile, Portugal may grant the State aircraft Status to a civilian aircraft when performing a specific service, namely, when used exclusively for official purposes such as:
The transport of Monarchs and their families;
The transport of Heads of State and their parties;
The transportation of Heads of Government, Ministers and their parties;
The transport of troops or security forces;
Any other flights which, due to their particularity, the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs recognize the State aircraft status.
